what we used to call "privileges"
by in a new york bethel minute inof all the privileges only brothers may have, doing mics seemed to be one of the most tedious.
it was definitely something you could graduate from... but why?
when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.

if you were raised a jdub, what was the first thing that was asked...
by in a new york bethel minute infrom your parents when you got home from service?
for me it was, "did you place today?
" pretty much sums up what service is about for most witnesses... i always prefered a good conversation, even at a young age... but the pat on the back always came from making placements... especially if it was a book!.

if (BLANK) were a Jdub, he would...
by in a new york bethel minute inremember that show doogie howser, m.d.?..
well if he was a jdub, he would have gotten baptized at 4, started pioneering right away because it's the first privelege u can receive when u get baptized... he'd be in bethel by the time he's 6. at age 8 he'd be an elder.
by the time he was 11 he'd be a c.o.

quote from the OCT 22/04 AWAKE!
by in a new york bethel minute inpage 15 states: "valentina married and moved with her husband to ingelheim, germany, in 1993. they have three children, who are all baptized witnesses of jehovah.".
does anyone find this statement a little strange?
even if they had their first kid right after being wed, he/she would still only be 11. and they are all baptized... there is a picture of the family... there are no triplets in the picture, and they are all young... so the sentence means how it reads.

do i know you???
by in a new york bethel minute inwhat i was thinking about is, since most of us that post on jwd remain annonymous, i wonder how many of us know someone else that posts on this site, but dont know that they post on this site... i keep hearing of new apostates (people that are aquaintances of mine) that are popping up... and i notice that a few people here are from ontario, canada.
too bad i may never know who you are, even though i may know who you are (get it???!!!).
it really spells out to me just how afraid most of us are.

i thought beards were allowed in brittain
by in a new york bethel minute inwhenever people bug me about my facial hair (just a goatie, kept really neat and clean) i always say, "what's the difference whether im here or in england... mind your own business.
" the reason i say that is because i was always told that it's okay to have a beard in england.
brothers dont get their balls busted for facial hair there.

i dont understand the term "marking"
by in a new york bethel minute ini was raised a jdub, was with it until last year... i know everything there is to know about it, i preached it and lived it for 24 years.
but i have never heard of the act of "marking" an individual until i joined this site.
i understand the idea of it, but i dont understand what is involved... what exactly happens when someone is marked?

MONEY!
by in a new york bethel minute ini dont know if this has been discussed in forum before... but i have heard that in some places, the society still asks for money for their "life-saving products.
" two countries in particular have been pointed as being pay-per-mag operated.
australia and (of all places) africa.
